Jay Shooster









Jay Shooster focuses on animal welfare litigation with the Richman Law Group. He also serves as a member of Direct Action Everywhere’s legal working group and as a legal consultant for the Nonhuman Rights Project. Prior to joining the Richman Law Group, Jay served as a Masiyiwa-Bernstein Fellow with Just Security, a project within the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at NYU School of Law. During law school, he worked as a clinical student on the policing policy team of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, as an intern in the National Security Division of the US Department of Justice, and in the Terrorism and International Narcotics Unit of the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.  He holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from the University of Florida and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
